Noise (Live)

Outside a curtain to an upstairs room,
raindrops pouring down on my roof,
like time bombs, explode overhead.
Stirring the water like a river that flows,
down from the mountain and into my soul,
it sings to me a song that I know...as the sound fades away.
Throw open the blinds,
did someone turn off the noise outside?
But don't chase me down,
I'm caught up in the landslide.
Pale is the face on the shadow
as the light now escapes,
from the light in my heart still faint at best,
like a beatbox thumping within my chest,
as days go by like the waves on the ocean.
Where have you been?
Where are you going to?
Throw open the blinds,
and someone turn off the noise outside.
Don't chase me down.
I'm caught up in the landslide.

Park your car at my house,
fix your lipstick and head downtown.
With every eye upon you roll out your carpet and walk right through.
Wait for it now,
the sirens and city sounds.
Addicted to the scene, you flash a smile and laugh out loud.
You're making it hard to think straight.
Your convulsions so hard to translate.
So speak my language or slow yours down.
It's getting old chasing you around.
My Monroe, you really had me going.
"Won't you take me home?"
"You're climbing up the walls."

All of the stars are gone,
and we are the last ones on planet Earth.
The stoplights are swaying,
and we've conquered the world,
laying waste to it's claims on who we should be.
We'll carve our names into the sidewalks,
and we can lay claim to the depths of the sea.
Then the highest of peaks, to the deepest of valleys,
will all bow down to kiss our feet.
All of the stars are gone,
and we are the last ones on planet Earth,
but we'll be monuments of blood and dirt,
and we'll build cathedrals from the rubble and earth.
Then all of our sins will melt away without our accusers.
With all of the weight of forcing smiles and saving face.
All of the stars are gone,
and we are the last ones on planet Earth,
but we'll be monuments of blood and dirt,
and we'll build cathedrals from the rubble and earth.

Caulfield (Live)

I count ten paces and I draw my gun,
then I drop my gun and I turn and run.
Like a madman, wandering lost in the streets,
the words of the pen and the paper you read scream,
"Love, love! From the depths of my soul I wish I'd gave you control!
Cause i need more than the words of wise men that melt like glass in the palm of your hand."
With sunlight on our face, we'll walk off the earth, walk off the earth.
Leaving no trace, we'll walk off the earth, walk off the earth.
Stop, hey what's that sound?
The drops on the leaves as the rain comes down from the highest of heights to the depths of the sea.
No answers are found to the questions I seek.
Because some of them concepts that keep me up at night thinking,
staring up at the moon, the stars, the sky without blinking is fire that burns in my still beating heart.
Ten thousand days to be back at the start, paying for my sins selling flesh by the pound.
Like the sound of the thunder my feet hit ground.
All I need is a taste of the truth not pointing to you!!!
With sunlight on our face we'll walk off the earth, walk off the earth.
Leaving no trace, we'll walk off the earth, walk off the earth.
I count ten paces and I draw my gun,
then I drop my gun and I turn and run.
Walk off the earth...
Stop! Hey what's that sound?
The drops on the leaves as the rain comes down as I walk off the earth.

Sparrow and the Clay Dallas, Texas
Sparrow and the Clay is four friends who share a love for music and art. Our band was formed after other projects were either sidelined or split up altogether. While SATC has enjoyed our time in the studio, it is the live show where we feel like the full vision of this group is realized. We hope you enjoy the songs and that we will get to meet you in person sometime. Peace - Sparrow and the Clay ... more
